Taikyn was born at the intersection of family, culture, and care — grounded in the belief that protective styling should save you time, money, and energy without making you choose between relief and looking your best. 

I didn’t see myself in the market. Just two extremes: itchy, chemical-heavy braiding hair or overpriced “clean” options that still lacked cultural connection and care. 

So, in 2024, with $47 and a vision, I created the in-between. 

The name Taikyn carries legacy and love.

‘Tai’ honors my sons, the future I’m building for them.

‘Kyn’, drawn from kinfolk, represents unity, care, and the support we find in community. 

Taikyn isn’t just another hair brand.

It’s a new standard for women who’ve always had to settle, adjust, or push through.
